About us

Hello

Welcome to Molesey Churches Night Shelter, where our community stands against homelessness in Elmbridge. Our mission is straightforward: to end rough sleeping. We're not just a winter shelter; we're committed to providing long term solutions for our guests.

Our Journey So Far

In February 2019, air mattresses filled church halls in Molesey. What began as emergency accommodation has evolved into a commitment to shelter every winter, even through the challenges of the Covid pandemic.

Our volunteers are the backbone of our operation, ensuring every night feels like home. We believe in the power of compassion, a homemade meal, and the simple joy of good company. Our guests aren't just beneficiaries; they become part of our family.

Vision and Mission

Molesey Churches Night Shelter’s vision:

TO SEE GUESTS’ LIVES TRANSFORMED AND AN END TO ROUGH SLEEPING IN ELMBRIDGE

Our mission is:

  • To provide a warm, safe and welcoming environment for anyone rough sleeping in Elmbridge in the winter months.

  • To mitigate the harm of rough sleeping on people's health and safety, especially during the coldest months of the year.

  • To advocate for our guests and support them to find and make a success of long term housing solutions.

At Molesey Churches Night Shelter, we aim to embody the love of God through our actions. Importantly, we do not impose religious beliefs on our guests; instead, we express love through genuine care and support.
